No Confidence Motion: Modi assures development to people of Andhra Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today assured people of Andhra Pradesh that they will not be left behind and the government will ensure their welfare and development.

During the no-confidence motion moved by the Telegu Desam Party (TDP), a former ally by of the BJP, Modi said the government stands with the people of Andhra Pradesh and their aspirations.

"I want to assure people of Andhra Pradesh that they will not be left behind, and the government will ensure their welfare and development," Modi said.

During Modi's entire speech, TDP MPs kept shouting "we want justice" in the House.

TDP's Jayadev Galla had initiated the debate on the first no-confidence motion against the Modi government in four years.

Galla ended his speech terming the division of Andhra Pradesh "undemocratic and unscientific".

The Andhra Pradesh party had pulled out of the Modi government and the NDA earlier this year after the latter denied its demand of special category status to the state.

The No confidence motion against the government was defeated with 325 votes for the government as opposed to 126 votes against the government during the motion brought about by the opposition in Lok Sabha. 

Earlier in his speech, PM Modi mocked at Rahul Gandhi over his gesture to make him stand from seat before hugging, saying what is the hurry to get the PM's chair.

"Some people are indulging in negative politics, arrogance is behind this no-confidence motion," said Modi in Lok Sabha. 

"This is not the floor test of the government, this is a "force" test of Congress and its so-called allies," Modi uttered.

1. I urge all parties to reject the motion that has been moved in the House
2. Today the nation has seen the negativity expressed by some members. India saw how some people are so deeply opposed to development 
3. If you were not prepared for the debate why did you bring the motion? Why were you trying to delay the motion

6. We are here because we have the blessings of 125 crore Indians. We are not here for selfish interests
7. We have served the nation with the Mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' 
8. Our government has the honour of working towards the electrification of 18,000 villages that were in the dark for 70 years. Most of these villages were situated in Eastern India and the Northeast
9. Our Government has opened bank accounts for the poor. Earlier, the doors of the banks never opened for the poor.  Women are leading a smoke-free life due to Ujjwala Yojana. Toilets have been constructed across India at a record pace
10. It is this Government that is bringing a programme like Ayushman Bharat that will give top quality healthcare to the poor
11. The decision of neem-coated urea has helped the farmers of India
12. The Mudra Yojana is fulfilling the dreams of so many youngsters. India is making a mark in the start-up eco-system
13. The Indian economy is being strengthened and India is also strengthening the global economy
14. The fight against Black Money is going to continue. I know I have made many enemies due to this but it is fine
15. Congress has no faith in the ECI, Judiciary, in the RBI, in the International Agencies. They have confidence in nothing
16. One of the leaders spoke about Doklam. The same leader, who believed the Chinese Ambassador over our forces. 
17. Due to one careless allegation in the House on Rafale, both nations had to release statements
18. My appeal to the Congress is please do not bring politics in national security
19. You called the surgical strike a Jumla Strike. You can abuse me as much as you want. Stop insulting the Jawans of India. I will not tolerate this insult to our armed forces
20. I read a statement- "who says we do not have the numbers." See her arrogance. I was reminded about 1999 the she stood outside Rashtrapati Bhavan and said- we have 272 and more are joining us. She destabilised Atal Ji's Government and never formed one herself 
21. What did the Congress do to Charan Singh Ji, what did they do to Chandra Shekhar Ji, what did they do to Deve Gowda Ji, what did they do to IK Gujral Ji
22. Two times the Congress was involved in buying votes with the power of notes
23. The entire nation saw what the eyes did today. It is clear in front of everyone
24. Atal Ji created 3 states- Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. It was done peacefully. These states are prospering. The Congress divided Andhra Pradesh and their conduct then was shameful
25. NDA Government is committed towards the development of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
26. Just because of your internal politics with the YSRCP you are doing this, I had told the AP CM
27. I want to tell the people of Andhra Pradesh that we will keep working for them. We will do everything possible for the development of AP
28. I want to tell you about the NPA problem. Much before Internet Banking, Congress Party invented Phone Banking and this caused the NPA mess. A phone call would get loans for their cronies and the nation suffered
29. This Government stands with the Muslim women in their quest for justice
30. Any instance of violence brings shame to the nation. I will once again urge the state governments to punish those who indulge in violence
31. India is seeing the record pace at which roads are being built, villages are being connected, i-ways are being built, railways development is happening.
