Shopping for Deepavali in T Nagar? Check traffic restrictions

Commercial and goods vehicle movement will be restricted during the business hours. These vehicles will be allowed between 11 pm and 7 am only.

Arrangements will be made by the Greater Chennai Traffic Police during the weekends and holidays from 8 October 2022 till 24 October 2022

CHENNAI: In view of the Deepavali shopping rush, large footfall of public is expected in T Nagar and nearby areas. To facilitate them as well as to manage the traffic, the following arrangements will be made by the Greater Chennai Traffic Police during the weekends and holidays from 8 October 2022 till 24 October 2022.

1. According to needs, entry of the auto-rickshaws will be restricted at the following places:

(a) From Thiyagaraja Street - Thanikachalam Salai towards Panagal Park

(b) From Brindavan Junction towards Panagal Park

(c) From North Usman Road - Coats Road Junction towards Panagal Park

(d) From Rohini signal Junction towards Panagal Park

(e) From North Usman Salai - Maharajapuram Santhanam Salai towards Panagal Park

(f) From Kannammapet Junction towards Madley Junction

2) Commercial and goods vehicle movement will be restricted during the business hours. These vehicles will be allowed between 11 pm and 7 am only.

3) In addition to the paid parking already available at Thiyagaraya Salai, GN Chetty Salai and Thanikachalam Salai, vehicles can be parked at Chennai Corporation School on Prakasam Salai, Ramakrishna High School on Bashyam Salai and Ramakrishna High School on Dhandapani Street.
