History sheeter hacked to death by gang in Ennore

CHENNAI: A 33-year-old history sheeter was hacked to death by a gang near Ennore on Monday, allegedly over previous enmity. Police have detained four persons in connection to this.

The deceased person was identified as Zakir Hussain, a resident of VOC Nagar in Ennore. He has several pending cases against him, including attempt to murder cases.

Police investigations revealed that Zakir Hussain was near railway tracks in Kamarajar Nagar during the early hours of Monday, when he was rounded up by a six-member gang.

Zakir attempted to flee from the area, but he was chased and hacked to death by the gang.

Ennore police, who rushed to the scene on information, secured the history sheeter’s body and sent it to government hospital for autopsy.

Investigations revealed that the deceased had assaulted two other rowdies in public view in a market area in Kathivakkam, Ennore. The two rowdies were subsequently arrested in a murder case and are in prison, from where they have allegedly hatched the plan to execute Zakir Hussain.

Ennore police have secured four persons- Karthik, Arunkumar, Ramesh kumar, Kishore in connection with the murder and have launched hunt for two other persons. Further investigations are on.
