Passengers shocked to see flight details in Hindi at Chennai airport

The passengers said 75% of the people who are visiting the Chennai airport are from Tamil Nadu and not everyone knows Hindi. The AAI should look into the issue and sort it out.

CHENNAI: The passengers were shocked to see the LED boards in the Chennai airport were displaying the flight details only in Hindi.

The Chennai airport which has a footfall of about 40,000 passengers in a day is mostly occupied by Tamil passengers.

Recently the passengers said that the LED boards are displaying the content only in Hindi and both Tamil and English are being skipped. Most of the passengers were put to suffer due to this and they are helpless and getting angry that Tamil is being skipped in our state.

Sources said mostly the English and Tamil content is being skipped at midnight.

Several passengers shared the incident of Tamil being skipped in the airport on their social media and said that most of them are clueless as to exit via which gate since the display boards were only displaying Hindi content.

A few years ago the same incident occurred in the Chennai airport and later it was sorted out by the AAI.

The airport officials said why the display boards were not controlled properly will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken to benefit passengers.
