The incident came to light on Wednesday after the girl’s mother lodged a complaint at an All Women Police Station. Both parents of the girl are working.
On Monday, the man had taken the girl to his house promising chocolates and sexually harassed her.
On Wednesday, when the man called the girl again, she informed her mother about the matter, after which the girl’s family lodged a complaint, the police noted.
Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and arrested the man, who has three grandchildren.
