The gruesome act is said to have been committed after 4 pm when the girl’s parents had gone to drop their elder son at a private institution leaving the girl alone in the house. When the parents returned, they found the girl missing. A frantic search ensued in the neighbourhood. Finally, she was found dumped in a sack and dropped inside a bucket in the bathroom of her home.
Tirumullaivoyal police rushed to the spot and sent her body for post-mortem examination. Police suspect the girl died during the assault. The accused was nabbed within hours.
