The accused was identified as Gandhi, an electrician and a resident of MGR Nagar in Kovilambakkam. Police said Gandhi had befriended a 15-year-old girl from the same locality. On April 20, after the girl completed her Class 10 examinations, Gandhi took her to Vellore and married her at a temple. On information, a police team from Pallikaranai went to Vellore and arrested Gandhi under POCSO Act on Thursday. Later, both were brought to the city. The girl was sent back home after medical check-up and Gandhi was sent to Puzhal prison.
