The video of this has been going viral on social media. Netizens have commonly commented about how this reminds them of Vadivelu's comedy from Sarathkumar's Aiyya in which he plays a theatre owner and screens the climax of Baasha in Arunachalam's show after a monkey steals the reel.

While one user commented asking if a monkey has stolen the reel, another user quoted another Vadivelu comedy from Kaavalan and said, 'Paavam avarey kanpees aagitaaru' (Good lord, he seems to be in confusion).

Beast opened to mixed to negative reviews from the audience and one of them can be seen shouting in the video that it was indeed nice of the operator to have played the second half of RRR instead of Beast's.

Produced by Sun Pictures and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Beast has Selvaraghavan, Pooja Hegde, Aparna Das and others in important roles. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music.
