TTV Dinakaran faction’s RK Nagar branch secretary and former council member S Santhanam died while six cadres were injured in car accident at Perambalur after they were returning from Tiruchy meeting late on Monday.
The accident has affected the functionaries sentimentally. It is said, when the car neared Thanneerpandhal on Tiruchy-Chennai bypass, it hit a cement laden lorry from Pennadam in Cuddalore. All the occupants of the car sustained grievous injuries. However, on Tuesday at around 7.30 am, Santhanam died despite treatment.
