The five-day parole granted to her to visit her husband M Natarajan, who had undergone a liver and kidney transplant ended on Wednesday and she travelled by car to Bengaluru prison. People and cadre gathered to see her off, since her journey was during the day time unlike her last week’s entry after sun set. When she started her return journey at around 9 am, traffic was choked at T Nagar, a busy commercial hub bustling with activities for the Deepavali season.
Party functionaries and cadre gathered along her route at several places in Chennai’s suburbs and Kancheepuram. Her vehicle was stopped in front of party founder MGR’s Ramavaram residence, besides a few temples along the route. Her supporters showered rose petals on her vehicle, burst crackers and shouted slogans hailing her leadership.
A large number of people from the villages gathered at many places along her way.
