Alleging that youth belonging to the AIADMK leaders’ families and their acquaintances were involved in the infamous sex racket that shook the state, Stalin referred to Wednesday’s arrest of three persons, including AIADMK student’s wing secretary of Pollachi by the Central agency and said the CBI should expedite the probe and arrest all persons with alleged high-level AIADMK links and make sure that they do not escape punishment in the racket to ensure women’s safety in the state.
Claiming that accused AIADMK student’s wing secretary Arulanandham was functioning as the shadow of the AIADMK Pollachi town secretary Krishnakumar and fostered by deputy speaker Pollachi Jayaraman, Stalin said that more (AIADMK) connections would surface if probed further. Stating that the investigating agency must make sure that the accused arrested on Wednesday do not get immediate bail like ‘Bar’ Nagarajan, another accused who came out on bail earlier.
Remarking that the AIADMK regime led by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami had made the state unsafe for women and the Pollachi sex racket was only the manifestation of it, Stalin said the AIADMK regime had repeatedly attempted to save the accused in the case.
DMK Women’s Wing secretary Kanimozhi said the arrest of the three accused has vindicated the stand of the DMK that AIADMK members are involved in the Pollachi sex racket. She also wondered if the arrest would have happened if the case investigation had continued with the EPS regime.
Joining the issue, state Congress chief KS Alagiri said the case probe should happen without the intervention of ruling party members as the accused are closely related to Pollachi Jayaraman and Municipal Administration Minister SP Velumani. He suggested that the case should be monitored by the Madras High Court.
