Tamil Nadu recorded a total number of 1,428 cases of COVID-19, including one imported case from another country and six cases from other states. The total number of cases in the State has reached 7,84,747.
As many as 11 deaths due to COVID-19 were reported in the past 24 hours. Of that, six were in private hospitals and the remaining were at government facilities. The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Tamil Nadu has reached to 11,733 with the new deaths.
At least 1,398 more people recovered from COVID-19 in Tamil Nadu and were discharged.
The total recoveries in the State stand at 7,62,015 so far. There are about 10,999 active cases of COVID-19 in Tamil Nadu currently.
A total of 68,854 more samples were tested in the past 24 hours across the State, while 68,388 more people were tested for COVID-19 in the same period.
Among the imported cases, one each was reported from Kerala, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bangladesh, Assam and Karnataka. The remaining one was a patient from Singapore.
