Padmanaban alias RK Raja from Tiruchy was appointed as the president of All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam founded by actor Vijay’s father SA Chandrasekar who had applied for the registration of the Iyakkam as a political party. Ever since he was appointed as the president of the party, RK Raja was facing too much trouble and even a case was registered against him. Though the case was pertaining to a real estate issue, persons close to Raja claimed that it had a vested interest and the Tiruchy police even took his wife and brother-in-law for a questioning after Raja was not available. He denied any wrongdoings on his part in a video. However, on Wednesday, Raja submitted his resignation from the post to Iyakkam’s general secretary Chandrasekar in which he stated that he has decided to resign due to his personal inconvenience to continue as the president. He also expressed his willingness to continue in the party as an ordinary member.
