The locals of Kuruvimalai village, Kanchipuram protested against the bad condition of roads that have been neglected by the government by dumping fishes into the stagnant water in the potholes on Wednesday. The villagers took this innovative act to demand the reconstruction of the road.
With heavy rains haunting the locals, the road which leads to school, anganwadi and milk depot looks like rainwater harvesting ponds.
The people complained that the road has inconvenienced them for 15 years and that the officials have not taken any step towards fixing it.
Along with villagers, communists party members and DMK members also participated in the protest.
