Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the farmers meeting was not held and the farmers were instead asked to submit a petition with their demands. Based on the priority of the demands, the grievances were redressed. However, the farmers have been insisting for a grievance meeting so that they can express their grievance in person.
Subsequently the Ariyalur District Collector D Rathna has decided to conduct the monthly grievance online and scheduled it on September 18 from 10 am to 1 pm.
The Collector urged the farmers to equip themselves for the meeting. Accordingly, the farmers are asked to link at Google Meet through https://ariyalur.nic.in and the farmers will be able to connect themselves to the online platform with smartphone, laptop and desktop computers and air their grievances.
Meanwhile, those who do not have such facilities can approach the e-sevai centres near their village and air their grievances.
She said that the VAOs would be available at e-sevai centres to help the farmers in participating in the online grievance meeting.
She urged the farmers to ensure wearing of masks and maintaining social distance while visiting the e-sevai centres.
