The Tamil Nadu CB-CID sleuths on Tuesday arrested one more Village Administrative Officer (VAO) in connection with the TNPSC examination scam.
The CB-CID is currently investigating three TNPSC examinations – the 2019 Group IV, 2017 Group 2A and 2016 VAO tests– in which large scale malpractice is suspected have taken place. The agency has so far arrested 41 people in connection with the scams. As many as 19 were arrested in connection with the 2019 Group IV exam scam, another 19 were arrested for the 2017 Group 2A exam malpractice and 3 people were arrested in the VAO exam scam.
Jayakumar, the key suspect, is linked to all the three scams as most of the people recruited through illegal means had paid huge money to him, the police said.
Jayakumar is now in the custody of the CB-CID for a detailed interrogation. The police suspect that he had been active during the last ten years and had been indulging in exam malpractice.
