The CB-CID sleuths on Saturday arrested four more persons, including three persons who were among the top 100 rank holders and a middleman, in connection with the investigation into the alleged scam in Group 4 examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) last year.
The CB-CID officials added that special teams have been formed in all the districts to question the candidates and arrest the suspects. Three men have already been arrested on Friday, including an official of the Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI), in connection with the TNPSC Group 4 exam scam. In all 13.66 lakh people attended the examination held on September 1, the rank list for which was published on November 12. During the investigation, the police team found that the malpractice took place at two exam centres in Keelakarai and Rameswaram.
The allegations shocked the State, following which a CB-CID probe was ordered. The TNPSC has banned 99 candidates from attending all competitive exams for life after inquiries revealed they had manipulated the answers by using a special ink.
