The State health department has allocated Rs 3.75 crore for the implementation of Integrated Financial and Human Resource Management System (IFHRMS) at the Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.
The automation of the treasury will help the Health department in proper bill processing, as the distribution of the budget will also be undertaken through the system. As part of the new system, e-service register and e-payroll system will be set up across Tamil Nadu. For this, basic IT infrastructure is required at various units under the Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.
As per the government order issued by the Health department, 495 computers and UPS, 475 laser printers and scanners will be installed, internet connectivity will be provided and firewall security will be ensured for various departments under it. Apart from these, many wings, including block office of Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, office of the Deputy Director of Health Services, National Filaria Control Units and even training centers, will get the IT infrastructure. When contacted, senior officials said that the system would be operational within few months, adding that it would ensure transparency in the functioning of the directorate.
