Union Minister of State for Railways Suresh C Angadi on Thursday undertook a campaign in support of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) here.
The Congress and the Left parties were creating problems and there is no need to believe their propaganda, he said, adding that only ‘’anti-social’’ elements will be sent out.
Charging that the Congress was creating politics on the issue though their party leader and former prime minister Indira Gandhi had brought the Bill in 1971, Angadi said that the public must respect and congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for taking the decision.
Further, to a query, Angadi said that no students are protesting and that even uneducated ladies from his constituency said that those who are staying illegally in the country should be sent away.
On the announcement of some State governments that they will not implement the CAA, the Minister said, ‘’It is up to the Central government and not the State government to implement it’’.
He further said the protesters should study the Act well and in case of any grievances, he added that they can discuss the issue in Parliament.
