But since, for an amount over Rs 100 crore, the file need to be sent to the Union government, he said, another file for Rs 93 crore was prepared and obtained the sanction of the Lt Governor.
Knowing this, the BJP organized an agitation before the civil supplies department on Monday and AIADMK MLAs picketed the Chief Minster’s office on Tuesday, he said.
Detailing the financial constrains the government is facing, Kandasamy said, when he was the Welfare Minister from 1996 to 2001, loans were provided to the minorities two or three times.
However, during this tenure, loans could not be provided to them not even for a single time.
Already loan to the tune of Rs 20 crore given to the differently-abled is pending for re-payment, he added.
