There is no political vacuum in the state and the recent bypoll results of Vikravandi and Nanguneri has silenced those who talk about vacuum, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said responding to the superstar’s response stating that there is a political vacuum in Tamil Nadu in leadership space.
“There should be no misconception, never were we told that Rajinikanth has joined the BJP, never were we told that he is willing to join the BJP. I don’t want to speculate and the BJP is not ready to have any speculations,” BJP national secretary P Muralidhar Rao told reporters in Chennai. Responding to Rajinikanth’s statement, the BJP said it was its democratic right to invite people to join the party. “If anybody is interested, they are allowed to join our party and a number of celebrities and eminent persons across the country have joined the BJP.”
“Now it is very clear that there should not be any misconception. Never we told Rajini is willing to join BJP,” he told reporters again. BJP is not interested in speculations, he added.
DMK treasurer Duraimurugan, in his response to the actor’s remarks that attempts were being made to portray him as a BJP man, said it was Rajinikanth’s opinion. To a question, there was still a vacuum for a powerful leadership in the state, “Stalin has filled up that vacuum a long time ago,” Duraimurugan added.
