Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami through video conferencing laid foundation stone for an International Yoga and Naturopathy Medical Science Centre in Chengalpattu Medical College.
The announcement to set up the international centre was made in the state Assembly on June 25, last year, under Section 110 of Tamil Nadu Assembly Rules and as announced the foundation stone was laid by Chief Minister, on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated a PET-CT scan equipment at Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai, at the cost of Rs 10 crore.
“The PET-CT scan equipment will detect cancer accurately. State government has been improving medical infrastructure across the state to ensure that poor people get access to all the medical facilities without any problem in their locality”, said Chief Minister.
Various new buildings and facilities attached to medical colleges across the state, worth Rs 30.49 crore, were also inaugurated by Chief Minister.
5.11 lakh petitions solved
Out of the remaining petitions 4.37 lakh petitions were rejected for various reasons and for the remaining 23,538 petitions action will be taken soon, said the Chief Minister.
He further said that out of the total petitions received majority were seeking patta.
Others were on demanding pensions and other monetary benefits.
