The ruling AIADMK on Wednesday conducted the district secretaries meeting at the party headquarters to discuss the party’s poll strategy ahead of the upcoming civic polls.
The meeting also discussed about the party’s general council meeting which has been pending for more than a year and discussed about the enrolment of new cadre. The AIADMK leaders also advised the party workers to gear up for the civic polls and start working to reach out to the voters.
According to the AIADMK sources, the party leaders also conveyed about the BJP’s demand for two mayor seats and said that the formidable alliance will continue and the party workers be prepared for the victory of AIADMK alliance which comprises the PMK, BJP and the DMDK. It is also learnt that the AIADMK had decided to hold the maximum number of mayor seats.
“The second phase of meeting will be held next week after the official tour of AIADMK Convenor Panneerselvam to Asian countries. Panneerselvam is to leave for Singapore as part of urban planning summit and will return in a couple of days,” AIADMK sources said.
