Condemning the controversial comments on Muslims by state Dairy Minister KT Rajenthra Bhalaji, Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) cadre, on Friday, staged protest across the state demanding an apology from him.
Recently, when a section of Muslims met Bhalaji during his campaign in Nanguneri he has allegedly threatened them by saying that they too will face consequences similar to Kashmiri Muslims for not voting them and asked them to submit the memorandum for whom they voted in the elections. The comments of the Minister have shocked the Muslim community across the state as they condemned him for his statement. Mujibur Rahman, Madurai district SDPI Secretary, said, “The Minister is acting as the voice of the BJP. As a Minister he should be impartial to all, but he is acting unconstitutionally by threatening the minorities.”
The Minister refused to get the petitions from Muslims and was threatening them, so he should apologise, said Mujibur Rahman.
