The State government on Tuesday announced 20% Deepavali bonus for employees working in profit making PSUs and 10% bonus for employees working in loss making PSUs, attached to the State government.
According to the statement, “The employees working in profitable PSUs will take home 20% bonus which includes 8.33% of bonus along with 11.67% ex gratia amount. On the contrary, employees working in loss making PSUs will get only 1.67% of ex gratia amount due to which their overall bonus has reduced to 10%.”
The same criteria holds good for Cooperative unions and Cooperative housing unions as they too will get variable bonus of 20 and 10% , respectively, according to revenue. However, Tangedco, State Transport Corporations and Civil Supplies Department employees will get 20% bonus.
Employees of C and D groups, attached to Tamil Nadu Textbook Corporation will get 20% bonus and employees of C and D groups in Tamil Nadu Housing Board and Chennai Metro water will get 10% bonus.
Employees attached to TWAD board will receive only 8.33% bonus and they will not receive ex gratia amount.
Minimum bonus for permanent workers will be Rs 8,400 and the maximum salary will be Rs 16,800. Tangedco contract workers and Civil Supplies Corporation staff will receive Rs 4,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.
The State government has allotted Rs 472.65 crore for Deepavali bonus.
