The Madras High Court has directed the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), to reinspect RVS Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital in Coimbatore district and find whether it is suitable for admitting students for the academic year 2019-2020.
As per the case, the petitioner’s institute was found deficient in infrastructure and therefore, the Homoeopathy Council denied permission to admit students for the current academic year. However, the petitioner contended that the defects pointed out during the inspection have been rectified and that all particulars were submitted to the Hearing Committee. The committee, however, denied permission to admit students.
Justice Jayachandran hence directed the reinspection based on the submission of the petitioner’s counsel that even now if AYUSH holds an inspection, they are ready to substantiate their compliance, while AYUSH’s counsel submitted that the council is ready to cause inspection within the time stipulated, if ordered by court.
