DMK president MK Stalin on Saturday made good use of the makeover given to Mahabalipuram for the Modi-Jinping summit to hit out at the ruling AIADMK in the by-election campaign.
“The AIADMK has been in power for the last eight years. They should have rectified the problems you had complained about. For that to happen, they should have conducted the civic polls. If you had a councilor or chairman, they would have done it for you. The problems you had complained about must be rectified by civic bodies,” he said.
Remarking that the incumbent AIADMK regime had avoided conducting election fearing defeat, Stalin promised to conduct the local body elections and fulfil their requests after the DMK returns to power and said, “Tamil Nadu has a government now. It was formed by MGR, guided by Jayalalithaa and managed by Edappadi K Palaniswami now.”
Wondering if it were the AIADMK or EPS regime, the DMK president, who is also the Leader of Opposition, said, “It is neither the AIADMK nor EPS regime. It is a BJP regime. The BJP is pulling the strings from the Centre,” urging the voters to teach them (AIADMK) a lesson for being subservient to the BJP by voting for the DMK in Vikravandi.
Later, in a tweet posted on his official Twitter handle, the DMK chief said the findings of the I-T searches have confirmed that NEET was a money spinner.
“The corrupt and tax evaders are making illegal profits from NEET while medical aspirants and their parents continue to suffer under this broken system. The I-T search shows that only the rich can afford NEET preparation and proves our claim that NEET discriminates against poor,” said Stalin, retweeting a Finance Ministry statement exposing detection of undisclosed income to the tune of Rs 150 crore from a NEET coaching Centre in Namakkal.
