“Once the information or complaint is received, an acknowledgement would be sent. The entire system is linked with the server that would be monitored from the district police office by a special monitoring officer round the clock,” DIG Balakrishnan explained.
Initially, traffic violations and accidents would be given priority and the other cases would be included in due course of time.
Residents can also file a live complaint by attaching images or videos which would show the locations that would help the police reach on time, the DIG said.
The DIG added that the app would be extended to Ariyalur, Perambalur, Pudukkottai and Karur districts in the Tiruchy range.
Launching the app, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police (Tiruchy Range) V Balakrishnan said, the app will facilitate people to get in touch with the police personnel of their respective jurisdiction and get quick response. It has several facilities, including Locked Home Monitoring System through which the residents can inform the police of their movements. The users will be mandatorily using their personal details, including their names, e-mail IDs and mobile numbers while registering.
