In a strong payback to Opposition leader MK Stalin, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday asked if the DMK released White Paper on foreign investments during its regime.
Talking to mediapersons here, Palaniswami said that during the DMK rule from 2006 to 2011, Tamil Nadu received an investment of Rs 26,000 crore. “Whereas the state attracted Rs 2.42 lakh crore during the first global investors meet in 2015,” he said.
Sharpening his attack on Stalin, the chief minister said that the Opposition leader has been talking without knowing the reality. “He need not felicitate me. Instead it would be enough if he stops blaming the state government unnecessarily.
On his foreign trip, the chief minister said that foreign investors have shown interest to invest Rs 8,895 crores in Tamil Nadu. “MoUs were signed with 41 firms and new investments may generate jobs to 35,520 persons,” he said.
