Reacting to the apex court judgment, a relieved Jeevajyothi expressed her happiness at the verdict. Speaking to DT Next on Friday, she said, “I came to know about the verdict in the morning. I am happy with the outcome.”
When asked why she was thankful to Jayalalithaa, Jeevajyothi said that while she was facing harassment at the hands of P Rajagopal, she met Jayalalithaa and told her what she was going through. Jayalalithaa was not in power, but she assured her that she would help. After Jayalalithaa became Chief Minister in the year 2001, the case was taken up by the police. “If Jayalalithaa madam was alive, I would have gone and fallen at her feet seeking her asirvadam (blessings), today,” Jeevajyothi added.
Jeevajyothi was in the eye of the storm after she filed a complaint against Rajagopal, who wanted to marry her. She got married to Prince Santhakumar, who was allegedly kidnapped and later found dead in Kodaikanal. The police arrested Rajagopal on charges of murder.
