Though the DMK has completed the seat identification process on Thursday, the Congress negotiators were learnt to have drove a hard bargain for Karur, Virudhunagar and Krishnagiri seats, thanks to the push from AICC president Rahul Gandhi whose favourites would be fielded in the three seats.
While Thol Thirumavalavan’s Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi is likely to be awarded Chidambaram and Villupuram seats, the MDMK, which was allotted one seat, might be given Erode constituency. IJK leader Ravi Patchaimuthu and KNMDK leader Eswaran are expected to contest on DMK’s Rising Sun symbol in Perambalur and Namakkal parliamentary constituencies respectively. IUML, a long-time ally of the DMK, could get Ramanathapuram constituency. DMK sources said the allies have been asked to turn up at Anna Arivalayam around 11 am on Friday to officially announce the seats allotted for each party in the alliance.
