The RK Nagar former MLA demanded that the CM launch an investigation into the controversial audio, which alleges that the minister had a relationship with a woman and wanted to abort her pregnancy. “I have adequate video and audio proof against Jayakumar and I will release them at the appropriate time,” Vettrivel, who had earlier released the video of late CM J Jayalalithaa in hospital, said. He asked Jayakumar to be prepared for a DNA test.
AMMK leader TTV Dhinakaran echoed the views of his trusted lieutenant and said the voice in the audio resembles that of Jayakumar. “The onus is on the minister to prove that he is not guilty,” Dhinakaran said.
AIADMK ministers came out in support of their colleague. “Who is Vettrivel to ask for a DNA test? Is he a doctor or a relative of the anonymous woman?” asked state Information Minister Kadambur Raju. Handloom minister OS Manian also said the allegations against Jayakumar looked frivolous. Meanwhile, Jayakumar reiterated that the audio was fabricated by Dhinakaran supporters and said he was ready for any test.
CPI(M) State secretary KBalakrishnan demanded an inquiry into the audio. “There are audio clips doing rounds on social media allegedly establishing that Jayakumar had cheated a woman who came to seek help and had made her pregnant. The audio clips present various evidences against Jayakumar,” he said in a statement.
