Police said Kaviarasan (45) had a dispute over the settlement of property with his father Parasuraman (65), a farmer of Katpadi. After one such argument on Tuesday, Kaviarasan in a fit of rage hit his father with a stone and left from the place. Parasuraman, sustained serious injuries and lost consciousness.
Meanwhile, Parasuraman’s younger son Veeran, who returned home, was shocked to find Parasuraman lying dead. On information, Latheri police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. A special team has been formed to nab Kaviarasan.
In another development in the region, a gang was arrested in Tiruvannamalai in connection with the murder of an elderly man.
Arumugam (52) of Gandhinagar reprimanded a six-member gang, which teased his daughter-in-law Selvi (22) when she was returning home on October 12. Angered by this, the gang members, Vinod (20), Parthiban (30), Navarasu (20), Chandrakumar (21), Arun Kumar (21) and a juvenile, assaulted Arumugam, who succumbed in a hospital on Wednesday.
