“Son of this soil, late former President Thiru APJ Abdul Kalam, while delivering a convocation address in 2008, shared his aspiration for India and called it Vision 2020. He said, “India will be a nation where agriculture, industry and the service sector work together in symphony; a nation where governance is responsive, transparent and corruption-free.”
PM Narendra Modi with S B Adityan, Director, Daily Thanthi and Malai Malar Managing Director Sivanthi Adityan
In his infinite wisdom, one cannot help but wonder if the late President had foreseen, that in less than a decade since his ‘Vision 2020,’ there would emerge a great leader, who would usher in change, galvanise the masses with his vision for a ‘New India,’ be a beacon of hope for the youth and forge a bright future for the nation. Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honour and privilege to welcome the Prime Minister of India, Sri Narendra Modi ji for the 75th anniversary celebrations of Daily Thanthi.
