D Vasu-coached Tamil Nadu had registered a 66-run win over Jharkhand in its Elite Group B opener on Sunday. All three bowlers picked up two wickets each, while R Sonu Yadav chipped in with a scalp. Chasing a below par target of 127, openers C Hari Nishaanth (47 off 40 balls) and Narayan Jagadeesan (78 off 50) got the job done in 15 overs without losing a wicket.
The left-right combination put on an unbroken 128-run stand for the first wicket. While Jagadeesan struck eight fours and three maximums during his match-winning knock, Hari hit five boundaries and a six. Tamil Nadu made one change to the playing eleven, with Baba Aparajith replacing the injured Vijay Shankar, who has a hamstring issue.
