Skipper Fazel Atrachali led from the front as U Mumba inflicted a 33-39 defeat on Haryana Steelers in the VIVO Pro Kabaddi 2019 duel at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex here on Thursday.
South Korean Dong Geon Lee (9 points) also played a vital role for the victor. The contest got off to a slow start as defenders outperformed the raiders, making an impact. In the process, U Mumba corners Fazel and Sandeep reached 300 tackle points in PKL history. The former was particularly lethal for the Season 2 champion, racking up a ‘High 5’ in just the 18th minute.
But the Steelers defence helped it draw parity at 15 all at the end of the first period. Haryana started the second half with more purpose as its star raider Vikas Kandola got into the game. His successful raids guided Steelers to its first all-out in the 24th minute, opening up a four-point lead.
