India No 2 Laxman Rawat will be the star attraction in the Q-Lounge All India Open Snooker Tournament starting on Sunday.
The tournament has attracted more than 128 players from across India. Apart from Rawat, Yogesh Kumar, Anuj Uppal, Railways players like Rafath Habib, Girish, Arvind Kumar, Pandurangaiah, Faisal Khan, Dilip Kumar and Peter Paul will be seen in action in the tournament. New generation snooker players such as Sparsh Pherwani and Kreish Gurbuxani are also in the fray.
Tamil Nadu is represented by SA Saleem, Varun Kumar, Mustaq, R Loganathan, Prabhu, and Vijay Nichani. Women players in the fray include Neena Praveen, Anupama R and S Manasvini from Tamil Nadu. There are more than 30 players coming from outstation including as far away from New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana and Karnataka in addition to Madurai, Salem, Coimbatore, Erode, Karur and Dharmapuri.
Till the round of 64, it would be best of five frames. The round of 32 and pre-quarter-finals would be best of seven frames. The quarter-finals and the semi-finals would be best of nine frames. The final to be played on August 3 would be best of 11 frames. The chief referee is RB Ganesh. The prize money is Winner: Rs. 70,000, Runner-up: Rs 35,000, Semi-finalists: Rs. 15,000 each, Quarter-finalists: Rs. 5,000, Top 3 breaks 100+ : Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000 & Rs. 2,000
