Volkswagen Motorsport India concluded its opening race of Round Two of its National Championship Ameo Class at the Madras Motor Race Track here on Saturday.
The first race of Round Two was a pretty clean race. Pratik took a strong lead after the first lap and maintained it till the chequered flag. Behind him, there was some action during the first lap of the race as Jeet tried to challenge Saurav.
Saurav maintained a defensive line through the first couple of laps to keep Jeet away and thus maintained his position till the end. Saurav and Jeet maintained their respective positions while Pratik went on to register his first win of the season. Later, Pratik Sonawane said, “It was a gradual progress for me through the weekend and most importantly I had to adapt to the track conditions as it kept on changing. On Thursday, my practice session did not go off well.
“On Friday however, I started picking up the pace and understood where exactly I could gain time. Slowly and steadily I increased my pace according to my strategy and I’m happy that it worked in my favour.”
