Dabang Delhi ended its three-match losing streak in Pro Kabaddi League Season 6 with a 39-33 win over Haryana Steelers.
Youngster Naveen Kumar chipped in with an invaluable nine points for Delhi. Chandran Ranjit started the proceedings with a bonus point for Dabang Delhi. Both teams relied on their ‘Do or Die’ raids to gain points. The extra raider proved to be an advantage as Delhi started to dominate the encounter. Monu was brought into the mat in the 10th minute, but he couldn’t stop Haryana from conceding an all-out, giving Delhi a five-point point lead on the scoreboard.
Haryana then inflicted an all-out on Delhi in the 18th minute, taking the lead by a solitary point at 16-15. Haryana had a four-point advantage going into the break. Delhi began the second half in fine fashion, picking 10 points in the first five minutes. Vishal Mane was vital for Delhi as he dashed on the Haryana raiders and pushed them out of the mat.
In the 31st minute, he did so to Naveen, helping his side take a three-point lead. Haryana crawled its way back into the contest as Monu got Naveen Kumar in a raid which had Pahal go out of bounce. The gulf between the two sides was five points in the 35th minute. Joginder Narwal got a strong dash on Vikas Kandola in the 38th minute ‘Do-or-Die’ raid, giving his team the momentum to march forward. Pahal sealed the match with a strong ‘Super tackle’ on Monu to give Delhi the victory. Haryana could only take home a point from the match.
