Middle-order batsman Rajat Patidar made an unbeaten 110 (254b, 9x4) as Madhya Pradesh posted 214 for three against Tamil Nadu on day one of the Ranji Trophy match at the NPR College Ground in Natham, Dindigul.
The pair made sure they went into lunch with nine wickets in hand. Aryaman was the second MP batsman to make his way back to the pavilion. India international Ravichandran Ashwin broke the century stand between the duo, dismissing Aryaman for 51 runs.
Patidar continued in fine fashion even after that as he got to his century in 214 balls, a knock which included nine fours. Abhishek Tanwar, who made his Ranji debut for TN, failed to pick up a wicket on the opening day. The home side will hope to get a few scalps early on Friday to make a way back into the contest.
