After sharing the photos on social media, he virtually met a lot of toy photographers from across the country. Along with a few other photographers from India, Hariharan participated in Toy Pic Olympics 2020 conducted by an international community called Toy Pic Community. His team won second place in this toy photography Olympics.
“I have a good collection of Hasbro action figures. This brand is really good because their superhero action figures have bendable arms and legs that can be bent and hold in place for the picture-perfect pose. You can even play out your favourite Marvel scenes with these toys. After doing toy photography, I befriended many other toy photographers from India. I depend only on sunlight to take photos. I also use different props like thermocol, smoke, powder, and other things lying around my house to get a good effect,” says Hariharan.
Toy photography is very famous in countries like Indonesia and Japan but it is in nascent stages in India. “There is a toy collectors group and I met a few passionate toy photographers there. We discuss different techniques and method used in toy photography. Recently, one of my toy clicks got featured in a London-based magazine,” the first-year ME student at Anna University quips.
