In four cases of sexual exploitation of minor girls reported in different parts of the city on Wednesday, all-women police have arrested two couples and two men. In most of the cases, women are involved in one way or other, either providing assistance to please their illicit lovers or turning a blind eye and concealing the incident.
Guindy all-women police arrested a 42-year-old man for impregnating a minor girl and the man’s paramour for misleading the victim to be sexually exploited by him.
Police said the accused Jesuraj is a scrap dealer and the other accused Kuppammal alias Meena developed a relationship with him when she often visited his shop to sell scrap picked up by her ragpicker husband. “Jesuraj told Meena that she wants a minor girl for sexual pleasure and to please him Meena took a 16-year-old girl when the latter’s mother was away at work,” said police.
The victim’s mother who was shocked to know that her daughter is pregnant lodged a complaint at Guindy all-women police station after which Jesuraj and Meena were picked up based on the girl’s statement. They were arrested under Pocso Act and remanded in judicial custody.
Woman allows daughter to be exploited by lover
Madipakkam all-women police have arrested a 36-year-old woman for forcing her daughter to be sexually exploited by her paramour. The 15-year-old girl is the elder of the two daughters to the accused mother, who separated from her husband a few years ago.
The 36-year-old woman allegedly developed a relationship with one Sekar (32) of Sholinganallur, a house painter, and Sekar who often visited her at home started sexually abusing the woman’s 15-year-old elder daughter. Though the teen girl complained to her mother, she allegedly instead of confronting Sekar, asked her daughter to adjust with him.
In September, the teen girl was confirmed nine-month pregnant after which her mother took her to Perumbakkam and then to her brother’s house in September without informing that her daughter is pregnant.
After the girl informed her uncle that she was pregnant, he tried to contact the girl’s mother, but in vain. Later, he lodged a complaint at Madipakkam all-women police station. A case was registered and the girl was sent to rehabilitation home where she delivered a male child in October. Police who launched a hunt for the Sekar and the girl’s mother arrested them on Wednesday and remanded them.
2-yr-old assaulted by mother’s paramour
Ambattur all-women police arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly misbehaving with a two-year-old girl of her girlfriend.
The accused D Ajaikumar of Korattur is working as a driver on contract with Aavin in Ambattur Industrial Estate. Police said he developed a relationship with one Mahalakshmi of Arakkonam, who separated from her husband, and they stayed together in a rented house in Korattur.
Police said that Ajaikumar often assaulted Mahalakshmi’s two-year-old daughter and allegedly tried to misbehave with the child. Mahalakshmi who rescued her daughter from him admitted her at the Institute of Child Health in Egmore and later lodged a complaint at Ambattur all-women police station. A case was registered under Pocso Act and Ajaikumar was remanded in judicial custody.
Senior citizen targets 6-yr-old in MKB Nagar
MKB Nagar all-women police arrested a 65-year-old man on the charges of misbehaving with a six-year-old girl in his neighbourhood. The accused V Sivaji of Erukkanchery was arrested under Pocso Act and remanded in judicial custody.
