Former journalist and academician Sashi Kumar and his wife Radhika were injured when a car driven by a man under influence of alcohol hit them during their morning walk. They are, however, out of danger.
Currently, Sashi Kumar is the chairman of Asian College of Journalism in the city.
The police said that they have arrested one Manoj for drunken driving and causing accident. “He was arrested and remanded in judicial custody for causing the accident under the influence of alcohol on Kasturi Ranga Road on Sunday morning. Manoj was traced with the help of CCTV footage from the locality by traffic police and booked under IPC 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide),” a senior police official noted.
