A 34-year-old was arrested in connection with the burglary in which 117-sovereign of gold jewels and Rs 30 lakh were looted from a house in Pammal two months ago.
John had broken into the house of Immanuel Jayaseelan, a financier and resident of Tholkappian Street in Pammal near Pallavaram, when the family had gone to the church in the morning on September 8.
In the afternoon, the victim’s mother reached the house and found that the house was locked from inside and alerted her son. They found that robbers had broken open the backside door and escaped with the cash and jewels. The Shankar Nagar police registered a case and started investigation.
While browsing through the CCTV footage collected from a nearby building, they found a man parking his two-wheeler near the house and entering it through the backside. They also traced the mobile phone numbers which were active in the locality. They found one of the phone numbers, belonging to a person who was not from the neighbourhood, travelling to different places like Ramanathapuram, Villupuram, Thoothukudi in the last two months.
A few days ago, they found that the number was active in the Pudupet. On Wednesday, the special team police arrested John Bosco. Police said that he has several robbery cases against him in Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga and Madurai police station and has been arrested many times. John Bosco was in a relationship with a woman, a flower vendor in Pudupet, and married her a week ago and her family was not aware of his background.
