Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday inaugurated an air-conditioned marriage hall in Raja Annamalaipuram here.
The marriage hall has a seating capacity for more than 1,000 people in the first floor. There is separate space for seating 75 VIPs in the marriage hall, which has 14 rooms.
“The government is functioning with the aim to protect the heritage of the State, by identifying temple properties and giving adequate protection to them. With the help of HR&CE department, the State government ensures that adequate facilities are provided to devotees,” said Palaniswami, after inaugurating the marriage hall.
He also inaugurated a hall to provide free food for devotees in Keezhpennathur in Tiruvannamalai district. The hall has been constructed in the land belonging to Somasipadi Balasubramaniya Temple, at a cost of Rs 53 lakh.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated a bridge across Palar river in Tirukazhukundram in Kanchipuram district. The facility will reduce traveling distance for the residents of nearby villages by as much as 20 km.
He also opened residential quarters for officials of the Rural Development department in Maduravoyal, constructed at a cost of Rs 6.99 crore.
