Chennai:
Specifically targeted at women employed in the Secretariat, the organisers of the event — Global Adjustments Foundation (GAF) — successfully spread the message that women can rely on themselves and build a long-lasting career for themselves while efficiently managing household and family.
GAF’s founder and chairperson Ranjini Manian educated the women that the key to their happiness lies in their own hands, while Usha Ramakrishnan, director of the foundation, said, “Through these workshops, we give women tools to achieve confidence and courage so they are able to understand the various nuances of living a good life.”
The foundation is planning to conduct more such workshops in the future, due to the success rate of the events held so far. “We have had women police officers and nurses tell us that the Champion a Woman sessions have brought about many positive changes in their life. Our efforts to empower many other women will continue because it enables them to become contributors to the nation and serve as an inspiration to the future generation,” she added.
