A week after a constable was caught for running a sex racket in Aminjikarai police limit, another constable has run into trouble after he was allegedly caught in a compromising position with transgender sex workers in Pallikaranai.
Pallikaranai police said they received calls around 10 pm on Saturday night that a constable in uniform was caught in a compromising position with transgender persons. They rescued him from the mob and left him at Thoraipakkam station.
Sources said Sathyaraj was on the way home after duty hours when he stopped his two-wheeler on Pallavaram-Thoraipakkam radial road and allegedly vanished into the bushes with two transgender sex workers, who were soliciting customers as usual.
A few motorists who noticed it followed them and started clicking pictures and videos. When Sathyaraj tried to flee, they intercepted him and abused him for indulging in such an act even while sporting the uniform. In the video, Sathyaraj doesn’t defend himself, but only mumbles in a feeble voice that he did not do anything wrong.
After inquiry, Thoraipakkam Assistant Commissioner Loganathan submitted a report to Joint Commissioner (South) C Mageshwari on Sunday. When contacted, the officer said Sathyaraj has been moved to Vacancy Reserve and suitable action would initiated against him after departmental inquiry.
