Amid increasing fear over the spread of the fatal game, Momo Challenge, the State government has asked authorities to take measures to prevent students from playing the internet game. Following this, the Directorate of School Education advised school authorities to divert the students’ attention to extracurricular activities like sports.
The game has been designed in such a way that once a person decides to be part of it, she would not be able to get out in the middle of the game, the department informed the School Education directorate.
Following instructions from the IT department, the School Education Director has directed district education officers to instruct school authorities to take measures to prevent students getting attracted to the Momo Challenge. The officials were advised to stress the importance of creating awareness among students.
Parents and teachers should monitor the child’s online and social media activities, keeping an eye out for unusually secretive behaviour. The directorate asked school principals and headmasters to give regular feedback to the educational officers about the awareness measures undertaken in their campus.
