The Madipakkam police recently received a complaint that a young man was roaming in the locality in suspicious manner. Following that, a police team from the station picked up Devandradyan near the bus stop on Monday and took him to the station. However, the police officers found during preliminary questioning itself that he was educated but mentally disturbed.
As they were probing more to gain information into his background, the police team managed to obtain his mobile number. With the help of the phone number, police traced his Facebook account and then contacted his friends though the social media network. Later, one of his friends, Chandrasekhar (24), who has been working at a hotel in Chennai, got the information and came to Madipakkam police station to enquire about him. On Tuesday his relatives arrived and police sent back Devandradyan with his kin to his state.
Police said that Devandrayan had reached Andhra Pradesh three months ago through an agent who promised him employment at a company there. But after reaching Andhra Pradesh, he realised the agent had cheated him. This pushed Devandradyan into depression. From there, the youth reached Chennai about a month ago by train, the police said.
