Urging the state government to take action against the management of the renowned institution located in Kulasekaram, which has allegedly been threatening the students and extorting money from them in name of fees, Doctor’s Association for Social Equality general secretary, Dr G R Ravindranath said, “Besides college fees, the management has been threatening the students seeking additional fees for hostel stay as well. Students have been protesting against the management in this regard alleging extortion of enormous amounts of money.”
Besides, he said, “The students have also been complaining the institution comes up with a new set of rules every now and then. They alleged that they are not being allowed to walk around campus with their stethoscopes around their neck. The students are being fined for using their mobile phones on campus, which is highly unfair.”
Demanding action be taken against the management and steps be taken to ensure that the students studying there are not fleeced, he added, “The state government must immediately intervene and find a solution to ensure that the students are allowed to continue their education without further problems.”
